Puppies 12/7-12/11

WOW. Just wow. Your little puppies were absolutely wonderful in our Christmas musical this, week, don't you think? I know it was hard for them to stand up there, stay still, smile when asked to smile, sing on tempo and in key, all while looking absolutely adorable. But, they did it! Thank you to all our parents, family members, and friends, that joined us to watch our musical. And a huge thanks to Miss Maggie who made it all happen.

This week we will finish the fall semester by introducing Miss E. Miss E likes to have lots of energy while she exercises. Just what Miss Renie, Miss Kelly, and Miss Kristen need as we head into the holiday feasting season!

A reminder that this Friday is our Christmas party for the children. A sign up sheet is on our door to sign up for items to send with your child for our party. Each child was assigned a Secret Santa friend for which to bring a small gift valued at no more than $5. The gift should be wrapped and brought to school on Friday for us to open as a class activity. If your child is not going to be at school on Friday, please let Miss Renie know and send your gift ahead of time so that we do not have any hurt feelings at the party on Friday. We also have made some wonderful gifts for parents and we want to make sure they make it home before the holiday break.

Penguins 12/7-12/11

We are very glad to share with you the wonderful moments we have in our class everyday. Each and every day our little ones are surprising us. We are really enjoying every second of our presence in the classroom. Yes, I surely have great things to share with you all. That is: Christian turned ONE on 20th November and amazingly he started walking already. That's not all! Another set of beautiful little feet started making little bitty steps, our Mary Carmen! It is great to see them walking around. and we never forget to say "Praise the Lord" as we see the children growing everyday.

Parents, please note that the last working day of this year is 18th of this month.

We Wish You All

"Merry CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010"

Best Wishes From

Ducklings 11/23-11/24

Dear Duckling Parents,

We hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving Holiday. Our Duckling's Thanksgiving Feast was wonderful. We had yummy food and treats, balloons, and special crafts to take home.
It is hard to believe that it is already December! The new Mountaintots calendar went home this week. If you did not get one, let us know and we will get it to you. Our next holiday party will be on Friday, December the 18th at 11:30. We will be painting holiday shirts for your child to wear at the party. Please send a white shirt (turtleneck, sweatshirt, t-shirt...whatever works best for you) as soon as possible. More information about the Christmas party will be coming in the next week.
Although we will be busy this month talking about the Christmas story and making special holiday crafts, we will also be continuing our letter studies. This week we learned about the letter K with Kicky Kangaroo. Next week we will study the letter L, followed by a week of review. Also, our Bible memory verse this month is James 1:17 "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above".
Thank you for entrusting us with your "perfect gift from above"...we are blessed to be part of your child's life.
Yours Truly,
Miss Thea
Miss Sheri
Miss Maggie

Puppies 11/23-11/24

Thank you to everyone who helped to make our Thanksgiving party a memorable one! Each of your little puppies picked their Native American name to put on their shirts. This was such a fun activity to see their little personalities come out. Granted, we might have made a few suggestions!

Our All About Me activities have begun! I hope each parent and grandparent has had the opportunity to look at our beautiful self portraits that were featured outside the classroom door. Activities such as these will help each child recognize that God made each of us unique and special, just as He planned. We will also learn to memorize phone numbers and home addresses so if your information has changed, please be sure to let us know before we have your child memorize the wrong information!

December is here and that means we will be making lots and lots of Christmas crafts for you to take home an treasure! While we will make every effort to keep paint off your children's clothes, just to be sure, please do not send them in any clothing that would cause heartbreak if paint made its way onto it. We hope that each child is listening to the Christmas music CD that was sent home so that everyone will have memorized the songs for our Christmas musical. Please refer to the December monthly calendar that went home with your child on Monday. A Puppy Class specific calendar will go home on Wednesday as well with our class letter assignments and other fun activities for parents and family members to remember.

We will also be giving each child the same letter and number test that was completed during the first week of school. I think you will be very pleased to see the progress your children have made in just a few months! We look forward to seeing their continued progress in recognizing their letters and letter sounds, as well as numbers, and counting. This will be very important as we increase our focus on handwriting in the spring.

Tadpoles 11/16-11/20

The tadpole room has lots to tell you about! This month we have four babies rolling over and our littlest ones have had their first smiles and laughter. Each little one has revealed his or her own unique personality to us.

We get so tickled at Hadley, who loves the frog bouncer. John Bryan loves our outdoor buggy rides and wins over the girls with his smile. Maddie's sweet voice fills our room with giggles during story time and she enjoys seeing her big sister playing next door. Will is fascinated with the mirror. His smiles show what a happy boy he is. Graham gave us all a thrill when he laughed for the first time. Apparently, having his diapers changed is funny to him. Katie is determined to be our first walker. She is so strong and proves great things come in small packages. Last but not least, Bryce let her sweet mom know how much she loves Mountaintots when she let out an excited squeal walking into the building this week.

This month we have played with lots of interactive boys. All the tadpoles are so curious and it is always fun to watch them interact with each other. We will be sending home a special craft for Thanksgiving and wish everyone a happy holiday.

Puppies 11/16-11/20

Greetings from the Puppy Room! We began our week with a visit from Miss Billie who showed us all about how to care for our teeth. Thank you, Miss Billie, for helping us celebrate our Letter T week! I know for our house, the tooth brushing is lasting a little bit longer than usual which is a good thing!

We also have been working hard on all of our Thanksgiving crafts in preparation for welcoming family and friends to our party next Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.

We had another birthday boy this week. Happy fourth birthday, Nathan! We had a great time celebrating your special day together!
